Business Development & Business Transition Committee

Purpose:
Provide leadership and support in the development and expansionof current businesses and in the transition of businesses. Provide encouragement, support, and resources to local entrepreneurs.

Duties:

  1. Provide educational presentations to organizations and businesses on opportunities for expansion.
  2. Provide the opportunity for leadership courses and business improvement courses to local business owners and operators.
  3. Provide support to business owners wanting to sell their businesses by offering assistance with transition.
  4. Provide information and assistance to local entrepreneurs.

Finance Committee

Purpose:
Provide leadership and support in all financial matters concerned in the development of our Economic Development Program.

Duties:

  1. Provide budget development support to the Economic Development Director.
  2. Research and develop most effective means of funding Economic Development Board and Director’s office.
  3. Provide leadership in developing a Local Sales Tax Proposal and the organization of that initiative.
  4. Provide support to the Director in identifying and writing grant proposals and locating matching funds.

Business Recruitment/Building and Site Development Committtee

Purpose:
Provide support in identifying new business industry and locating and organizing information on potential industrial and business sites.

Duties:

  1. Provide support to the Economic Director in the location and Recruitment of new businesses.
  2. Provide a well organized, comprehensive visitation and tour for prospective new businesses and investors.
  3. Provide information on the location and availability of existing and new industrial and business sites.
  4. Provide support on the development of a well-organized notebook presentation of these sites.
  5. Provide information on the feasibility of the purchase of lease/ purchase options for these sites.

Tourism & Youth Projects Committee

Purpose:
To enhance promotion of our community assets, attractions, and opportunities. To provide support and cooperation for area youth organizations and programs.

Duties:

  1. Provide support in the development of community promotional Ideas, activities, and programs.
  2. Collaborate with the Tourism Board and Chamber of Commerce on projects, activities, and grants.
  3. Identify and promote current and potential youth programs by working collaboratively with youth organizations.
  4. Encourage the development of youth facilities to support programming.
  5. Provide support in the development and revision of a community website.

Meeting Minutes
